I recently switched to a prepaid cell service, Straight Talk. I absolutely love it…only $45 a month for unlimited talk/text/data. I got a nice phone with a slide out keyboard (I think it’s a Samsung) and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve already saved myself hundreds by going to prepay and I’m not losing any of the things I need. The best thing about it is that I get great service because Straight Talk runs off the Verizon towers.

Let me tell you, I just got the Samsung Finesse on the Straight Talk plan. The Finesse is a touch screen just like the iPhone, but with a much cheaper plan. I’m only paying $45 a month for unlimited service…still can’t believe it. You’re not gonna find a better deal, especially one using Verizon cell towers!!!

Straight Talk, to me, is the best prepaid plan out there. I love my phone, and it is only $45 for unlimited minutes, texts, and data. The best part is that I don’t get any dropped calls since Straight Talk runs on Verizon’s network coverage.

I really enjoyed this read, and it does highlight the points of trying to get the most money for your mobile. I made the mistake of selling my phone to a well known brand without checking out other recyclers and in the end found out that I could have made £20 - £30 more if I had used some comparison service such as Sell My Mobile. Saying that though I did sell my old phone quite some time ago and the whole process was still very, very new back then.

I’m not sure why the previous reviewer had so much trouble with the character recognition. Perhaps it is a defect in the particular unit he received. In my case, it did a very fine job recognizing the data on a large variety of business cards. Very fast, and easy to use. I did not activate the integration with Outlook, but did set it up to make the Cardscan contact list available in Outlook, and that worked just fine. My only quibble is with the free online backup that they offer: the fine print tells you that they will email everyone on your contact list periodically to encourage them to join up. This sounds like a great way to lose all your friends, so I didn’t do it.
